Hello. I'd like to know what are the photonegatives of colors, i.e., the negatives of colors in photography? I know black and white are one pair, blue and yellow is another, and red and cyan are another? Can someone please list some others? Please let me know. Thank you. Very Happy

I'd like to know what is the photonegative of:
orange
pink
violet
brown
indigo
gray
tan?

I know this just from the artist/ color wheel perspective -- might not hold true for photos, though I'm not sure why it wouldn't.

Orange -- blue
pink -- dark green
violet -- yellowy-green
brown
indigo -- orange
gray -- gray (darker gray -- lighter gray, lighter gray -- darker gray)
tan?

Not sure about tan and brown, as they're combinations of colors from the whole wheel. A light yellowy tan would probably be a dark purply brown -- something like that.

In RGB space-light doesn't combine the way paints do.

Here's a sample color wheel. Opposites are across from each other. If you're talking about photos, adjust light/dark, too. (As in, the negative of the lightest yellow is the darkest purple.)

OK, then don't mind me. :-)

(It's less about combination than opposites.)

I noticed this was different from a standard color wheel, though -- the yellow and blue were opposites, as you mentioned -- so maybe it's more useful:
