I'm still waiting for someone to vote for envy. Poor little guy is up there with all those other options that have been picked. Oh how he must wish he had all the popularity like those other options! Poor envy. He must be so...ummm....what the f*** is the word I'm looking for here?

Gluttony...
Quote:
Modern views identify Gluttony with an overindulgence of food and drink, though in the past any form of thoughtless excess could fall within the definition of this sin. Marked by unreasonable or unnecessary excess of consumption, Gluttony could also include certain forms of destructive behavior, especially for sport, or for its own sake. Substance abuse or binge drinking can be seen as examples of gluttony therefore.

Yep. No question about that one.

Always best to be gluttonous together.

Here ya go. Have some ... I wouldn't want you to have to change your vote to "envy."

i don't see lust as a deadly sin. gluttony is sometimes also fun. uhh, i guess i have a problem with the whole 'sin' concept. my capital sins list would be different.

I agree.

I would add betrayal to my list. And I'd remove gluttony and maybe lust too.....

I can't say that I'm going to miss the Rev. Jimmy Falwell.

Is that a sin??

That's an awfully nice thing to say in a thread about sin.

Well, considering that would be my sin...I missed it.

I have a hard time saying those three little words....

Hey, if you don't know which it is, put yourself in a situation where you'd be tempted by the other two, and see which one wins out in the end.

Which means I might have to change mine to lust, followed by gluttony, and then followed by sloth. It's probably a good thing that sloth wins out over wrath, though.

Thgat sounds too much like work. Hmmm...must be sloth.

Oh okay then I'll take envy.

But it's only because everybody else showed up early and got all the good stuff leaving me with the crap stuff, as always.

It isn't even my fault that I'm so late. I had to meet with my credit counselor and I really needed a new outfit for the meeting.

And you should see my outfit!!!! It's dar-ling!!!! I was going to wait until it went on sale but I just knew someone else would get it first so I decided to splurge.

You like it? Really? Does it make me look fat?

Because I've been thinking of having a little work done -- if you know what I mean. My best friend, Marsha, she had some work done. She really needed to have some work done if you get my drift but now she thinks she's all that and then some. She gets everything she wants. I hate her.

Well, ****, lady, I didn't quite get how the poll thing worked.

I don't know why it works this this way, but if you post a poll, it always cuts off the final entry. If you want four entries, you have to post five, and the last one will get dropped.

In this case, you needed to have posted an eighth option, with enough nonsense characters in it to make it a place holder. It would have been dropped, and your seven would have appeared.

Just so you'll know in future.

By the way, it helps to use the preview function when posting a new thread.

The entire issue doesn't matter, Setanta.

Everyone who posted on this thread has shown pride in their particular sin.

I think you just have to remember to hit "add option" (it's just to the right of the poll option field) before clicking "submit."
