MerryAndrew: I do believe I will take a glance at the American vs. English thread I must have missed, but to which Robert so kindly referred, because it is probably where I should have taken my post to in the first place. Maybe I'd prefer a bite to a bark, however! :wink:

Angelina, I was this close (use your imagination) to saying Webster's Shmebster's. Or was I going to say dictionary shmictionary? But I thought it would be unseemly for the English content specialist to mock the dictionary. I'm a coward. Shame on me. And good for you.
