Can I get help simplifying this:

1/(1+sqrt(5))/2*sqrt2/2*1/(1+sqrt(5))/2exp3/2

I don't want the actual number, just the equation simplified. Thanks in advance Smile

First of all, this is an expression not an equation...because there is no equals sign.

When you have one fraction divided by another fraction, it is equivalent to the inverse of the inverses. For example,

(a/b) / (c/d) = (d/c) / (b/a)

In this case, you have 1/(1+sqrt(5))/2...so the top is a fraction of 1/1 and the bottom is a fraction of (1+sqrt(5))/2. Therefore, it is equivalent to 2/(1+sqrt(5))..and the 2 cancels out with part of the rest of what you have.

Additionally, this puts (1+sqrt(5)) on the bottom twice so you could write that as being squared...

That's about all you can do.

However, I suspect that you have improperly used parenthesis in writing down this expression, in which case what I have said may not help you.
