Hi everyone
I love the cryptics and think i have all the answers, but there are two that are bugging me because I can't figure out how they work.
43across Where to find Florence (5) - the obvious answer seems to be Italy; but is that right? It looks too obvious.
42across Failed to win using reason - but no-one expects it to be won (4,5). I have Lost Cause. I can see how it fits the second half of the clue, but how does it fit the first part?
Somebody please put me out of my misery.

42a failed to win I think means lost and then of course cause.
