Hi Tuesday & Allana

Here is my reference for foist for what it is worth:

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source foist (foist) Pronunciation Key
tr.v. foist·ed, foist·ing, foists

To pass off as genuine, valuable, or worthy: "I can usually tell whether a poet . . . is foisting off on us what he'd like to think is pure invention" (J.D. Salinger).
To impose (something or someone unwanted) upon another by coercion or trickery: They had extra work foisted on them because they couldn't say no to the boss.
To insert fraudulently or deceitfully: foisted unfair provisions into the contract.

75a = disparity
90a = triomphe
76d = surplice
77d = avocado
78d = imposed

Hi Allana and Dutchy
I can confirm Dutchy's answers for 76d etc.
I am still thinking about 105a. Think both answers could be accepted, would like to see some input from someone else.However I have to say Dutchy is almost always correct. Take a bow Dutchy.

Hi Tuesday

Comparing the two definitions I'm leaning towards 'foist', however it may well be that 'Lovatts' will accept either answer as you suggest. A matter of personal interpretation I suppose. Pity there is not more input from other puzzlers.

foist (foist)
tr.v., foist·ed, foist·ing, foists.
To insert fraudulently or deceitfully: foisted unfair provisions into the contract.

feint(fnt)
n.
1. A feigned attack designed to draw defensive action away from an intended target.
2. A deceptive action calculated to divert attention from one's real purpose. See Synonyms at wile.
v. feint·ed, feint·ing, feints
v.intr.
To make a feint.
v.tr.
1. To deceive with a feint.
2. To make a deceptive show of.
