I have a Dachshund pup named Eddy he is 7 months old and he has a chewing problem. He chews my other dogs collar off. He doesn't destroy anything else just his brothers collar. I have tried the no chew spray and that doesn't work and I would like to keep a collar on my dog. What do I do?
Hmm, have you tried giving Eddy something more appropriate to chew? He's a young pup so he's going to chew, and of course rawhides are preferable to collars. We had a terrier who used to chew the harness right off her. I think she may have eaten it as we never found the parts but she never, er, passed it either, as I recall (then again, this was over 7 years ago so I could be remembering it incorrectly).
It's also possible that it's a bit of a dominance issue between the dogs. Are there other dominance behaviors going on that you've noticed?
Tried
They have an abundance of rawhides and ropes. There isn't a dominance issue that I have noticed. I have found that if Oscar has a belt like collar (the kind with a buckle and belt holes) he just chews the end of it. If it is one that snaps like a life jacket he chews it right off.
How about a collar made of hardened steel with razor blades embedded?

I don't like it when
my master commands me to wear that sort of collar; I can't imagine a dog would find it any more appealing.
Why do you feel a need to keep a collar on your dog?
