That reminds me of an Irish movie I saw, and I can't remember the name of it, but a kid steals a horse and brings it up the elevator to the apartment he lives in. Well, his parents were less than pleased, and the police were after him, so he makes an escape to western Ireland. It was actually a very good movie.
"Into the West" is the name of the movie. The kid steals the horse from a group of Travelers (gypsies)
