Hello everybody , can you help me in finding analysis of the poem (ode to duty ) for William Wordsworth .....
I need only the first and second stanza if you can , thank you .
STERN Daughter of the Voice of God!
O Duty! if that name thou love,
Who art a light to guide, a rod
To check the erring and reprove;
Thou, who art victory and law 5
When empty terrors overawe;
From vain temptations dost set free;
And calm'st the weary strife of frail humanity!
There are who ask not if thine eye
Be on them; who, in love and truth, 10
Where no misgiving is, rely
Upon the genial sense of youth:
Glad hearts! without reproach or blot;
Who do thy work, and know it not:
O, if through confidence misplaced 15
They fail, thy saving arms, dread Power! around them cast.

I won't do that for you. But maybe I can direct you to figuring it out.
First, think of the title of the poem. This is key. This is what Worsdworth is talking about.
Next, take each line of the poem and turn it into a sentence. By this I mean, the thought doesn't end when the line ends. Put all the complete thoughts together.
Make sure you understand what all the words in the poem mean.
It's not necessary for you to understand everything. I think it will be enough if you get the general idea.
Remember, it's about DUTY.
If you have specific questions, I'll TRY to answer them. I studied Wordsworth a long time ago.
