A congregation of crocodiles....can some scaly beast here in this church today testify?
"Flock wallpaper has a fine pile synthetic or natural embossed surface, glued to backing paper. It often gives a velvet texture and is rich in colour. It is one of the more expensive wallpapers. It is a difficult paper to hang as any paste touching the surface will ruin the pile. If it becomes stained, it can be carefully sponged, otherwise it can be gently brushed to remove surface dust."
Clever, but technically not a flock OF wallpaper....
I like this one: A shrewdness of apes
Hmm...sounds good....
A plump of woodcocks (heh heh, another classic)
sort of a splinter group, huh?
Ouch....don't wanna think about that....
A shrewdness of Apes
A caravan of camels
A clowder of cats
A skulk of foxes
am I doing this right?
a belling of bats
a chorus of cats
a derby of dogs
a din of dogs
a fin of flies
a fan of flies
a fanning of flies
a fanny of flies
a grease of geese
a gross of geese
a grumble of griffins
a harbor of halibut
a handful of hippos
a hypo of herpes
a clutch of learner drivers
A pantload of beaver.
(I think I just lowered the level of my own thread by many IQ points
)
I just read this wild short story, in Tim Cahill's Not So Funny When It Happened, a travel anecdote compilation; the anecdote title was The King of The Ferret-Leggers, by Donald Katz. This involved people who would be timed for how long they could keep a couple of ferrets in their pants, pants that had been tied off at the pant cuffs. This was quite a vivid few pages.
So, in honor of Donald Katz, I must add
A Pantsful of Ferrets.
I can ONLY imagine wht that might be like, ossobucco! I guess that maybe a few of the participants might have had a 'pantsful of business'?!
What yarn could you tell about a prickle of porcupines?
okay, I know mine is the last post, but I've got a new one:
a giggle of pre-pubescent girls (we're -sigh- having a slumber party over here, OY!)
a guffaw of hyenas
a neigh-borhood of horses
a whinney of whipporwills
a lashing of whippets
a crash of teenagers (boys, assuming the giggle of girls)
An ascendancy of larks
a spring of spaniels
a torpor of Thai dogs
a frustration of commuters
a goggle of tourists
