Hello,

I've been living in a house in Michigan with a pear tree for one year. I noticed last fall that the pears were small and roundish. What do I need to do to make these pears big like the ones in the store...

Tstyjzz, welcome to A2K.

I suggest that you take some leaves, and a pear if one is on the tree, to your local nursery to identify the type of pear. It sounds like you may have a variety of Asian Pear rather than the usual types of pears you find in your grocery store. Asian pears are wonderful. They are round with yellow skins, about the size of a baseball or tennis ball depending on the variety. They are firm and crisp, and are wonderful sliced in salads.
