Good luck, Bree. I'll pass my turn to anyone who would like to continue playing.
I'll start a round, and let you know when I have to leave.
L G
Real?
Alive?
Male?
American?
Showbiz?
Lorne Green?
Welcome back, Dev.
Not Real
Alive
Male
Not American
Not Showbiz
Thanks, aggie. Must ponder this one...
You're most welcome, Dev.
Let's set L G aside and let someone else play, if they wish. I won't be back here until late in the afternoon tomorrow.
Well, since no one else has started a new round, I'll ask a question about Raggedy's "L G":
Was this character created for a book?
Good Day to all!
Yes:
The character was created for a book.
Good morning!
Was the book written before 1900?
Yes, written before 1900.
Was the author of the book from the UK?
hmm. I'm not too sure if it was the United Kingdom. You'll have to straighten me out on this one, later.
I'm not too sure what I mean by it, either! (I think the UK includes England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, but I wouldn't swear to it.)
Let me ponder this a while...
Was the author of the book female?
Not Real
Yes:
Alive
Male
Not American
Not Showbiz
Created for a book
Written before 1900
Author was Male
And I'll say NO to United Kingdom
Lemuel Gulliver
(Who knew he had a first name? I just had to look it up!)
I know. Wasn't that sneaky? Since Swift was born in Dublin (Southern Ireland) , I should have said NO to UK at the outset. Sorry!
I was hoping for one more question so I could hint: In all my Travels, I have never known anyone with the same first name of this character.
But, you're just too smart to need a hint. (lol)
Actually, it was your scrupulosity (is that a word?) about whether or not the author was from the UK that tipped me off that he was probably Irish, which narrowed things down considerably. Good one!
I don't think I should start the next round right now, because I have to go into a meeting in 20 minutes, and then I'm leaving for the office "summer outing" (we're going to a bowling alley - doesn't that sound like fun?)
If someone else wants to start another round, go right ahead -- otherwise, I'll do so either this evening or tomorrow.
