I seem to have got confused at where we draw the line at who is "showbiz" does Sam Peckinpah count?
I mean do directors count?
Died before 1900
I would count a director as being in showbiz, so saying my person is not in showbiz means that he can't be Sam Peckinpah. I think of showbiz as encompassing more than just performers, so creative types like directors (if they can be said to be creative) would be included.
Maybe one way to approach this is, if we get a positive response to the "showbiz?" question, then we could try to narrow it down by asking if the person is/was a performer (and then, if we get a positive response to that question, asking if he was an actor/singer/dancer, etc.) Just a thought.
Anyway, by even the broadest definition of the term, I think it's safe to say that "SP" wasn't in showbiz.

I just found a note I made of Fealola's definition of this category.
"Yes to entertainment
No to writer"
but, I wouldn't call it "showbiz".
