The actor died before his time in 1980

I dont know whether he won any awards I cant find anything.

I've just found out whist looking for that info that the characters first name actually began with J. I didn't think his first name had ever been said on screen. So what does the I. stand for if not his first name?

My mess up you can have these for free, although you will recognise him instantly as I.C. and not as readily as J.C.

Hope that makes sense.

Well, Peter Sellers was an English actor who died before his time in 1980, and I think that Chance the gardener (the character he played in Being There, which was made not much before 1980) was a mainland European, but I thought Chance's full name was "Chauncey Gardener," which wouldn't give him either "IC" or "JC" as his initials. But I don't remember the movie all that well, so Chance probably had another name, which eludes me at the moment.

Galina Vishnevskaya Rostropovich?

She goes by "Galina Vishnevskaya" professionally, but she's married to Mstislav Rostropovich, so if you were being really tricky, you could say her initials are "GR."
