Sheeesh! you people! Baseball!

If the theory Bree mentioned about a nation of immigrants, travelling and then coming home safely is so, why isn't it popular in Oz? We have the same background, generally!

There is baseball played, to a minor extent, in Oz. I used to watch it, with my grandmother, in a park near her place, many years ago. More recently, near this same park, is one of our favourite restaurants. We watched some baseball only a few weeks ago, after a Sunday lunch. This wasn't due to any interest in baseball, however, more related to blood alcohol levels and driving! But it was a lovely sunny day, and we were in no real hurry.

Interesting, isn't it? And then there's the almost complete absence of cricket over that side of the world!

Perhaps there's an allowance of only one major bat and ball game per country! Cool

margo, somehow I knew you were going to make that point about Australia being a nation of immigrants, too! All I can say is, there are quite a few Australians playing professional baseball in the U.S. these days, and they must have learned the game somewhere. I actually found a list of them (which proves that you really can find anything on the Internet) at:

Australian baseball players in the U.S. major leagues
