Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind does move
Silently, invisibly.
I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart;
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears,
Ah! she doth depart.
Soon as she was gone from me,
A traveller came by,
Silently, invisibly;
He took her with a sigh.
William Blake

I own several poetry books. :wink:
I like eveything you quote. I had to bury my literary interests in that deep part of my brain where no one else not even me would ever know about them. Have a little more luxury now. Are their any books you would recommend ? I am asking you because I love everything you have posted so far. keep in mind though that I am standing at the seventh grade level. That is when I had to give it up for "the more beneficial"choices in Life.
I'll post the names of several books I have on poetry. Also, as you probably know there are numerous poetry sites.
:wink:
Do you like Langston Hughes?

Have not read him. Could you recommend a poetry site to start with? I guess I am being lazy. But then that is why we have experts on A2K don't we?

Start off with this site concentrated on poetry by William Blake.
Move on then to Robert ( Bobbie ) Burns.
Thanks so much, I am starting.
We'll start some Langston Hughes next week. :wink:
Thanks, Do you formally teach poetry or just own books out of personal interest ?

I do not teach poetry, but I do have numerous books on poetry.
I love poems derived from mysticism.
