Living in Romania - What to wear?

Hey, I'm going to be living in Romania for the next 2 years starting about June/July of this year.

Since I'll be moving there in the dead of summer, I'm hesitant to pack any sort of heavy winter clothing... Is there any chance that I can get a nice winter coat and winter boots over there?

I'm sure there will be some decent stores in Bucharest but I'm looking for a professional looking, black, calf-length, winter coat - should I just bring one from the states?
Also, do you think it needs to be waterproof? Thanks!

You'll be fine. They do have coats in Romania. Shopping is among the favorite pastimes, weather real shopping that the new rich do, or window shopping that the rest does. In any case, you'll find everything you need there.

Make sure you cover your dirty bits up.

Apart from that you can wear anything you want I would imagine now they are in the EEC.
