There is a Pleasant Valley across the Hudson in Putnam County, which I believe you all went through - at least part of that county.

We're on our third digital camera. Philip's first one fell in the water (with him). What a mistake! And costly too. Note: Do not purchase a digital camera and put it in saltwater!

I have a mini-digital that looks like a fat pen. Love it, but never figured out how to get the pictures out. Still pictures in there from Tucson. I did, however, feel like a spy taking pictures.

Phil now has a Canon 7500, which he likes. I like it OK, at least when you click the shutter it usually takes a photo.

And heck, when I sleep I just end up talking to the cats anyway
Kinda nice to have an interaction Smile

Yeah, the zoom on the new camera is not worth anything, especially when it goes into digital zoom. Why did they bother with that feature?

I tend to be an admirer of Canon SLRs but, I think Id go Nikon or Fuji maybe even Sony for digital

Negs are just so....much more permanent and have absolutism for me, it just cant get beter than that

Some of the zooms actually are a nice feature, just depends on the camera, just like SLRs..big long zoom nice for things like oh..marathon runners, taking pics of tigers and such but, for the kids in the yard...um no, unless you have a tall house

Sumac, Pleasant Valley is in NY?

Hmmmmm, I don't remember it. Maybe that's some place Beth went with Brenda.

SLR is the best I think but they seem out of style these days everyone one wants instant pics and they want them on the net.

Quinn, I like zooms on a 35mm, but I want everything to stay in focus! With the Canon SureShot, it didn't. Very disappointing.

Okay..silly question but, was it autofocus zoom?
you just never know!?
Was it always out of focus..it seems strange and I ask only because Canon optics are fabulous Smile
Okay, one tip...ALWAYS pay more than 100.00 for a camera if youre picky
If you arent that impressed with the clearest most professional looking cameras...go for the 89.99 special, or the throw aways <actually Ive used those before with some good results>
