A friend whose son suffers from asthma and terrible allergies once bought a very small poodle for her kids because she wanted them to grow up with a pet. The dog was adorable but because of his breeding history, he lived a short life, full of pain. His owners loved him but had to euthanize him, which was worse for them than never having had a pet. The only benefit to the poor little dog is that the family who adopted him, loved him dearly. He could have suffered a worse fate than his bad legs.
