My dog does protest wees!!!

Can anyone help?

I have a 16 month old shih tzu. He knows he should do his business outside but when we go to bed he wees on my bin. If I pick up my bin he wees on the fridge. He is usually good if we leave him all day to go to work but if we leave him on weekends when he knows we're usually home then he wees and poos depending how annoyed he is- hence why we call it protest wees and poos. We walk him at least once a day although often 2 times a day. I've tried limiting his water intake and walking with him before bedtime.

Please help its driving me mad.

Shih Tzu need a lot of attention, if you leave him alone too long he'll
get upset with you and will show it. We had one many moons ago, he used
to lift his leg on our indoor plants, he started hiding his food behind my
pillow or the sofa cushions, and he once did his business in the bed of
our dog sitter because she was late walking him.

They're awfully cute, lovable dogs, but don't provoke or annoy them,
they'll get even!

Just spend more time with him, and he'll reward you. Very Happy

Thanks for replying u have described our oscar perfectly!!! We spend so much time with him but perhaps thats the problem? He is left alone all day but even if we have the day off he still likes to sleep all day so don't think that is a problem

It doesn't matter if he sleeps all day long - just knowing you're around
makes all the difference.

Get a second dog, that's what we did Very Happy
