Jes--

I appreciate your coercive talents.

Osso--

Your buffet table is going to be longer than the float!--and much more delicious.

Jespah's floats are hilarious...

I've pictured my 3 x 3 table as an ever evolving food opportunity... I probably need a second table for the beverages..

Osso--

Take all the space you need. We'll be wooing the judges through sight and sound and smell and taste.

Tai Chai--

Spectators are welcome, but wouldn't you like to participate?

There'll be some green chile cheeseburgers, some sans the cheese, and gardenburgers with carmelized onions and red pepper mayo.

Some fries with that green chile burger, natch -

I can't take time to describe all the panini and focaccia available - will just show a photo of the parade annex..

Time to be thinking about some pot stickers, some sushi, some vietnamese rolls, some suppli' al telefono...

and to add some good beer & ale, some nice bottles of wine, and some soda fountain drinks to the drink table...

How long will the parade last, anyway? Might need to plan for more coffee and tea...

We're marching dawn to midnight--particularly if DrewDad comes through with his LED displays.

Then at midnight....austerity reigns.

Okay...if I was designing a float to represent the Canadian contingent on A2K, I guess I'd build a giant styrofoam igloo. I know it's a stereotype, but with the kind of winter we're having it would be appropriate. And for contrast to all that white, we Canucks could be outfitted in bright red Stanfield's one piece longjohns (as a subtle reminder of our more "socialistic" natures). We'd all be wearing tuques of course, and we'd have mittens on strings so they wouldn't get lost when we took them off to eat "beaver tails".

Tai Chai--

Sounds good. Will you be using BPB in or out of costume?

Any dogs?

Others might like to start new food stands, I don't need to be the parade foodqueen. Might be nice if we aligned Kensington Market right next to our route, wherever our route, which keeps flitting, is...

Of course BPB would lend an authentic air to an igloo float -- maybe without the longjohns...As for dogs, huskies and American Eskimos would be most suitable I guess, but really, is there such a thing as the wrong dog? Any well-behaved mutt willing to wear longjohns and a tuque is most welcome. (I'll make some maple-leaf shaped dog treats.)

TaiChai--

The dog treats are a nice touch. Can you make extras to fling to the crowd?

Osso--

You're right. You can't possibly feed the crowd all by yourself. Do you think you could find some help?

Oh, that's a good photo, Jespah. Well, some might not concur.
I am finding it piquant.

Damnnabbit, I don't think I've kept the cattle parade through Eureka on file, nor any of the antique car show parades, nor the protest, but, which protest was it?

Oh, good! I'll be on a pedestal, right where I belong.

My 3'x3' pedestal will hold another pedestal...possibly an Ionic column...on which I shall stand, dressed in my usual Olympian finery. I shall be shaking bottles of champagne and spraying onlookers, then tossing Godiva chocolates to the crowd. Two Nubian slaves with elaborate gold breastplates will stand guard below me, next to the column, waving large peacock feather fans so everyone can enjoy my perfume without coming too close.
