ahh i just started chem and doing acid base equilibria stuff, and im a bit confused... how do i find the pH of something like
HCl with 0.1 concentration? do i write it out as HCl --> H(+) + Cl(-)
and just ratio it 1:1 with the H(+) ion then do pH = -log(.1)?
It is impossible to estimate what the pH is since you don't write what else is in the solution.
I guess it's water, in that case you did it right.
You might want to add "aq" above the arrow to indicate it's a water solution.
