Back again for more help please, sure brains gone on holiday.
19a therefore cover is substantial-5 letters
32a ring before taking job there appears to be an oversight-8 letters
40a one who appears to have no driving ambition-8 letters
44a devestates girlfriends by swallowing mice backwards - 9 letters
46a he doesn't believe he's acting so strangely -8 letters
48a concentrate in order to shorten the story - 8 letters
62a hit by work stoppage - 6 letters
If someone can help me with these will try to sort out down ones.
We had 52 points rain yesterday which was lovely lot more needed.

Hello,
I'm having trouble with the cryptic in Colossus 108. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.....
The clues are:
1d - pine surface reflects sad expression
2d - brought together by Edgar the Horrible
20a - in public he questions written order to banker
50d - account for loud gunshot
53a - hate to see wrong side using psychic ability
68a - shadow detected in the end
This is the worst I've ever done with a Lovatt's cryptic - feeling very silly!!

53a despise (this has been confirmed on a previous posting)
68a tail.
Also its probably better to start a new posting instead of adding on to other postings. that way you should recieve a reply quicker.

Thank you as well for the advice. This was only my 2nd attempt asking for help on Able2know (what a fantastic site!) so I was not sure the best way to go about it - so any advice is a great help.

In Colossus Cryptic I'm stuck on 11a...Shock return of acentric....I have N?T?
On the Holiday cryptic I'm stuck on 23a...Blue ribbon awarded to graduate with outwardly tough exterior......I have R?B?ND ( I've got to have a connecting letter wrong on that one somewhere).
