Well, we finally went out for my birthday dinner tonight. Meself, the lady Diane and the lady Osso tried a new place, a seafood place. I have never experienced EVERYTHING overcooked before. I had a combo of lobster tail and crab while the Lady had live maine lobster and Osso had Swordfish.
I (after tipping the waitperson genererosly) explained that I thought the salt was great and probably iodized, came home and heaved my cookies, rode the orcelain bus How the hell can you over cook lobster?

Well, New Mexico isn't exactly a waterfront state, so the lobster could
have been a bit overdue. Out here, it's always fresh and even the
Chinese know how to cook lobster superbly.

Bummer, dys. Not the way you want to end a birthday dinner. Next time you're in town we'll go to City Island. Never had an overcooked lobster there.

Happy birthday anyway. Wish you the best.

Iodized salt is actually good for you (goitre & all that) .... but no salt is exactly fabulous as the major flavour of any dish! Erk!

Oh well, at least you had good company!

Next birthday bash, perhaps go for a tried & true eatery: Fabulous food that you've longed for, dreamed about, which makes you dribble just thinking about it!Very Happy

I don't do seafood, but stick with beef. It's almost impossible to overcook.

I'm thinking (and someone in the car said) there's so many texans in albuquerque that the resturants all think "medium rare" means burn to the core. My Lobster was black all the way through, the veggies were smooshable and the crab was bounceable. $150 for dinner and I left half of it on the plate.

I barfed as soon as I got home. As I came out of the bathroom the Lady Diane said " well, it was a nice evening."

Why did you not send the food back?

(HAPPY BIRTHDAY anyway.)

Well, he was hardly going to impale you in a crowded restaurant!

Not only would I not send it back; I'd be pretty grateful it was overcooked if it made you sick anyway (the cooking didn't do that).

Happy Birthday dude.

Thats what I was thinking. Imagine how sick you would have been if it hadn't been overcooked and some of the bacteria knocked.

My littlest brother (He's only 51) always bellows, "I'm not eating no spiders," when lobster is mentioned. I love it, myself (the properly cooked, non barfable kind).

Happy Birthday!

I gave up on eating outside the home some few years ago. and Vancouver is world renowned for many styles of cuisine, just not worth the pain though.

Clean and simple home cooking…….kind'a boring though.

Vladz is a cool name. Anybody named Vlad gotta be cool.
I hope you informed the Health Dept . You owe it to other people so that this does not become a regular "special" on their menu.

If it wasn't meant to be funny sorry....

But I haven't had a well prepared steak in a loooong time. Everyone overcooks steak.
