Cafta to answer your question first, Varasi is also known as Varanasi, now if you search in Google under that name you will find the following:The best introduction to Varanasi is from the river. The city stands by a curve of the Ganga river, with the stone steps of the numerous Ghats sweeping down to the water.

Im new to this site, stumbled upon it looking for Varasi's river steps. Never knew it existed, but now I will check it out daily. I do all the crossword comp, and really havent been stuck before until this clue. Hope I can use you guys more often. Puzzle on.
