Hi gwen39, while I do not profess to be very good at doing Cryptics, here are some of my feeble attempts at the answers;
1d: Justifies
4d: Channel
29d: Sceptre
63d: Acronym
12a: Snaredrum
15a:
45a: Threaten
60a: Idoltry
64a: cautionary
70a: Sincere
71a: Unhitch
Take these as guidelines and see if they fit in to you existing answers BUT wait for someone else to confirm before finalining

Hi Farkha
Please note, 1d is a past sentence, 60a = 8 letters not 7 and 71a = totem not unhitch, which is 72a.
I mention this so Gwen won't get confused.
Regards Dutchy.
Hi Dutchy, hope you had a great holiday.
1d is indeed Justified
60a has an elusive A and should be Idolatry
71a is Totem
(Sorry gwen, a little fuzzy this morning)
Dutchy, are the answers generally correct? Is the answer to 15a Initiating?
Hi Farkha
I like to think my answers are correct as I compared them with another cryptic wizard!
I feel 'initiating' is the appropriate word for 15a. Made up from the words 'in it giant' given in the clue. My word speller also gives me this word from the letters 'i?i?i?t?n?'
Agreed?
Holiday 59 cryptic
Welcome back Dutchy, thanks to you and farkha for confirming my answers. Still not confident I am correct until I see someone else has the same as me. However I love the challenge.
Tuesday
Thanks to all that helped with answers, maybe brain will start
working again one day-- if ever we some rain to wash the
cobwebs away.

1down
Hi all
I think that 1 down is "Justified" as in the first post, not "Justifies" as it appears later.
The clue is in the past tense (gave reasons) and "aligned margins" are referred to as justified (past tense again).
Hope this helps.
