I love poetry as it comes from the heart and makes one think and ponder their own lives as well as that of the poet.. You can tell so much about the person who writes the poetry.. It is like a good song that speaks to your heart...
You are correct, heartandsoul- when the poet is REAL-
...and not trying to be "commercial".
Oh, nothing WRONG with writing for a living... that is a superb way to survive if one can use a LIVEWIRE imagination to come up with jingles, songs and quips that sell- both on products and services.
Heartfelt poetry is an outlet, though- as you have indicated. It lets the emotions flow, and gives release to joy and heartache alike.
