Glad to catch you again, Dutchy! DeVries is my married name. His ancestry goes back to somewhere in, of course, Vriesland. There was something about Viking royalty, and his side of the family got on the bad side and were disinherited! (Come to think of it, hubby does have the look of a viking!)
I am half Dutch on my mother's side, though. Her maiden name is Cole (formerly Koole). My grandmother's name was Ozinga. We've traced that ancestry back to Sniek. FYI, There's still an Ozinga hotel there.

No, unfortunatley I haven't. I glean what knowledge I can though. My sister has been & met some relatives who were managing the hotel until up until a few years ago. Where in the Netherlands are you from and what's it like?

I was born in Amersfoort, a city about 50km from Amsterdam, and have been back several times to show my son and daughter around.
