I use 4-5 sites on a daily basis. Because of that, I don't log off at the end of each day. Am I creating a problem for myself? Also, I do the same at our son's place.
I don't ever log off. I use a dial up and it wastes more than too much time already without all the extra log ins and outs. If it leads to problems I don't know, but it's something I have always done.
There are few (very few) ways that not logging out can hurt you. But if you on on someone else's puter it''s best to log out.
um, I never log in or out here, I have an icon for the Index Page on my desktop and just click. Is this creating maelstoms of divots that I don't know about?
It's really easy access....
Nope, no problems there either.

Logging out, I don't think, is actually necessary. It's just something else to remember to do!
Makes better sense this way:
Logging out, in my opinion, isn't necessary.

William, may I suggest bran?
Oh, Max. This ain't a political thread.
I pay a couple of my bills online and log off when I'm done, because they have my bank account number. The sites suggest I do that. Does anyone know if it makes any difference?
I definitely do the same. Most places that use account numbers, credits cards, etc automatically log you out, ie, don't allow you to stay active without reusing a password. You don't want someone on your computer buying out the Tiffany sale table!
soozoo,
Any site that involves a financial transaction I logg off from.
If you control all access to your computer it's not so important but it's a good precaution.
Thank you both.
P.S. Tiffany's has sale tables? I'm going to check it out right now!
Oh, BTW, welcome aboard soozoo - and have fun. I'm sure Tiffany's sales table would still take a years salary!
Thanks BillW. And what the heck kind of a job do you think I have anyway? Maybe two years salary ....
I don't pay online; that's why I can stay logged in.

Craven, if we don't log off, does that give spammers more opportunities to get our e-mail addresses?
I get 40 to 50 spams each day and its getting worse. I keep blocking them but they increase like crab grass. Its driving me nuts.

edgar, the question is not about your IP (Internet Provider) and staying logged on but about individual sites such as A2K, your eMail account, your bank account, PayPal, eBay etc.
On some sites, such as this one - you have the option of "Stay Logged On With This Computer". Sometimes it doesn't hurt, sometimes it does; such as, with financial sites.
