A taste of honey
Tasting much sweeter than wine

Red, red wine
Goes to my head;
Makes me forget that I
still need her so

The searchlight's on the skyline just looking for a friend
Who's gonna love my baby when she's gone around the bend?
Egyptian bells are ringing when it's her birthday
A sweet nothin' I'm talking about you, there's a hurricane blowing your way
Ooh such a beautiful way to break your heart

You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye.
And I'm gettin' blown away
Somewhere safer where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but I get so blown away.

Like black balloons all banged and blown

I was walking up Sixth Avenue when Balloon Man blew up in my face
There were loads of them on Bryant Park so I didn't feel out of place
There must have been a plague of them on the TV when I came home late
They were guzzling marshmallows and they're jumping off the Empire State

Then i'm walking in Memphis
Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do i really feel the way i feel...

I just want to feel real love,
fill the home that I live in.
'Cause I got too much life,
running through my veins, going to waste.

Angels running...
All those angels running
Picking up the pieces
Putting back together hearts broken long ago...

Strange angels - singing just for me
Old Stories - they're haunting me
Big changes are coming
Here they come
Here they come.

I've been drifting along in the same stale shoes;
Loose ends tyin' a noose in the back of my mind.
If you thought that you were making your way
To where the puzzles and pagans lay,
I'll put it together, it's a strange invitation.

Well I've been to the mountain and I've been in the wind,
I've been in and out of happiness.
I have dined with kings, I've been offered wings
And I've never been too impressed.

All right, I'll take a chance, I will fall in love with you
If I'm a fool you can have the night, you can have the morning too.
Can you cook and sew, make flowers grow,
Do you understand my pain?
Are you willing to risk it all
Or is your love in vain?

There must be a Heaven where little Annie can play
In heavenly gardens and bowers
And instead of halo, she'll wear round her head
A garland of genuine flowers

Annie had a baby, can't work no more
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Annie had a baby, can't work no more
Every time she start to working
She has to stop to walk the baby 'cross the floor

She had to walk with the baby
Instead of me
Talk to the baby
Instead of me
Sing to the baby
Instead of me
Cling to the baby
Instead of me
Now I know I know Annie understood
That's what's happens when the game gets good

There's too many people you used to know;
They see you coming, they see you go.
They know your secrets and you know theirs;
This town is crazy, nobody cares
Baby, you're a lost; baby, you're a lost;
Baby you're a lost cause.
I'm tired of fighting, I'm tired of fighting
Fighting for a lost cause

Oh Lord I'm Tired - Ray Price

Well I'm standin' on the corner of a busy street
A lookin' for your face in ever crowd I meet
Searchin' every honky tonk in this town
Tryin' to find the places where you hang around
Oh Lord I'm tired tired of living this a way
[ fiddle ]
Well I've been waitin' on you baby night and day
A wonderin' if your love will ever come my way
But time's runnin' out and I'm a slowin' down
I'm tired of bein' just another hang around
Oh Lord I'm tired tired of living this a way
[ steel ]
There ain't no happiness in anything I do
I found myself so lonely when I'm not with you
What makes you just a kinda girl a guy will love
You've got so many others that you're thinking of
Oh Lord I'm tired tired of living this a way
Oh Lord I'm tired tired of living this a way

Invite me to the seven seas
Like some seasick man.
You'll do whatever you please,
And I'll do whatever I can.
Titanic fare you well,
My eyes are turning pink.
Don't call us when the new age
Gets old enough to drink.

Oh Lord only knows it's getting late.
Your senses are gone so don't you hesitate.
Move on up the hill
There's nothing dead left to kill;
Throwin' your two bit cares down the drain.

Unwinding
(Janis Ian)

The hours pass, the night unwinds
You left my heart a beat behind
Time is a friend and a foe
I never dreamed you would go
Love is a clock unwinding

'Round and around
'til the feelings run down
I toss and I turn
'til I'm all tired out
I know I told you not to worry,
I'll be fine
It's just a matter of the heart
and that takes time to unwind

I saw your sister yesterday
We couldn't find a lot to say
I took an apartment downtown
I'm getting used to it now
Leaving the past behind me

'Round and around
'til the feelings run down
I toss and I turn
'til I'm all tired out
I know I told you not to worry,
I'll be fine
It's just a matter of the heart
and that takes time to unwind

Debra (a satire of all these 'club' songs that proliferate Smile

(falsetto:) I met you at JC Penney
I think your name tag said Jenny.
I cold-step to you with a fresh pack of gum
Somehow I knew you were looking for some.
Like a fruit that's ripe for the picking,
I wouldn't do you like that Zankou Chicken.
'Cos only you got a thing
That I just got to get with;
I just got to get,
Get with you,
And you know what we're gonna do...

I wanna get with you
And your sister
I think her name is Debra

(normally voiced:) Oh girl, I only wanna be down with you
'Cause you got something that I just got to get with

I pick you up late at night after work
I said, "Lady, step inside my Hyundai
I'm gonna take you up to Glendale"
Yeah, gonna take you for a real good meal

(falsetto:) Cos when our eyes did meet
Girl you knew I was packing heat.
Ain't no use in wasting no time gettin' to know each other,
You know the deal.
Cos only you got a thing
That I just got to get with.
I just got to get, get with you,
And you know what we're gonna do...
