Way down in the state of Georgia
Through the swamps and Everglades
There's a hole in Tiger Mountain
God help the man who gets lost in Miller's Cave
I had a girl in Waycross Georgia
But she had unfaithful ways
Made me feel I was unwanted
Like the bats and the bears in Miller's Cave
I caught her out one Monday morning
With a man they call Big Dave
Meanest man in the state of Georgia
Rather fight a mountain lion in Miller's cave
I said you'll pay both you and Davey
They laughed at me and then I shot'em
Hid their cheatin schemin bones in Miller's Cave
That woman made me feel unwanted
But I showed her I was brave
Most wanted man
In the state of Georgia
But they'll never find me cause I'm lost in Miller's Cave

GEORGIA ON MY MIND
Ray Charles

Georgia, Georgia,
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I'm say Georgia
Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

I said Georgia,
Ooh Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

Georgia,
Georgia,
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I said just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind

Sweet - Sweet's Song
Soundtrack, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Why'd you run away?
Don't you like my style?

Why don't you come and play?
I guarantee a great big smile.

I come from the imagination
And I'm here strictly by your invocation.
So what do you say?
Why don't we dance a while?
I'm the how to swing.
I'm the twist and shout.
When you gotta sing,
When you gotta let it out.
You call me and I come a-runnin.
I turn the music on, I bring the fun in.
Now we're partyin', that's what it's all about.

'Cause I know what you feel, girl.
I know just what you feel, girl.
DAWN
So you're like a good demon? Bringing the fun in?
SWEET
All these melodies, they go on too long.
Then that energy starts to come on way too strong.
All those hearts lay open that must sting.
Plus some customers just start combusting.
That's the penalty when life is but a song.
You brought me down into this town
So when we blow this scene,
Back we will go to my kingdom below
And you will be my queen.

'Cause I know what you feel, girl.
DAWN
No, you see, you and me
Wouldn't be very regal.
SWEET
I'll make it real, girl.
DAWN
What I mean, I'm fifteen
So this queen thing's illegal.
SWEET
I can bring whole cities to ruin
And still have time to get a soft-shoe in.
DAWN
Well, that's great but I'm late
And I'd hate to delay her.
SWEET
Something's cooking, I'm at the griddle.
I bought Nero his very first fiddle.
DAWN
She'll get pissed if I'm missed,
See my sister's the Slayer.
SWEET
The Slayer?
DAWN
Uh-huh.
SWEET
Find her. Tell her, tell her anything. Just get her here. I
want to see the Slayer burn.
SWEET
Now we're partyin'.
That's what it's all about.

Sweet is the melody, so hard to come by.
It's so hard to make every note bend just right.
You lay down the hours and leave not one trace,
But a tune for the dancing is there in it's place.

Well, the dance floor's for gliding and not jumping over ponies.
Where boots and gold bracelets come and meet as they should.
It's for celebrating a Friday night romance:
Forgetting the bad stuff and just feeling good.

Oh, sweet is the melody, so hard to come by.
It's so hard to make every note bend just right.
You lay down the hours and leave not one trace,
But a tune for the dancing is there in it's place.

Oh, an arm's just an arm 'til it's wrapped 'round a shoulder;
Looped side by side they go stepping out together.
A note's just a note 'til you wake from your slumber,
And dare to discover the new melody.

Oh, sweet is the melody, so hard to come by.
It's so hard to make every note bend just right.
You lay down the hours and leave not one trace,
But a tune for the dancing is there in it's place.

Oh, sweet is the melody, so hard to come by.
It's so hard to make every note bend just right.
You lay down the hours and leave not one trace,
But a tune for the dancing is there in it's place.

Ooh, ooh.
Ooh ooh.

Took my fam'ly away from our Carolina home
Had dreams about the west and started to roam
Six long months on a dust covered trail
They say heaven's at the end
But so far it's been hell

And there's fire on the mountain
Lightening in the air
Gold in them hills and it's waiting for me there

We were digging and shifting from five to five
Selling ev'rything we found just to stay alive
Gold flowed free like the whiskey in the bars
Sinning was the big thin Lord
And satan was the star

And there's fire on the mountain
Lightening in the air
Gold in them hills and it's waiting for me there

Dance hall girls were the evening treat
Empty cartridges and blood lined the gutters of the street
Men were shot down for the sake of fun
Or just to hear the noise of their 44 guns

And there's fire on the mountain
Lightening in the air
Gold in them hills and it's waiting for me there

Now my widow, she weeps by my grave
Tears flow free for her man she couldn't save
Shot down in cold blood by a gun that carried fame
All for a useless and no good worthless claim

And there's fire on the mountain
Lightening in the air
Gold in them hills and it's waiting for me there

When the lights go down in the California town,
People are in for the evening.
I jump into my car and I throw in my guitar,
My heart beatin' time with my breathin'.
Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul,
There's people out there turnin' music into gold.

Well my buddy Jim Bass he's a-workin' pumpin gas,
And he makes two fifty for an hour.
He's got rythm in his hands as he's tappin' on the cans,
Sings rock and roll in the shower.
Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul,
There's people out there turnin' music into gold.

Ah the California girls are the greatest in the world,
Each one's a song in the making.
Singin' rock to me I can hear the melody,
The story is there for the takin'.
Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul,
There's people out there turnin' music into gold.

Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul,
There's people out there turnin' music into gold.

When the lights go down in the California town,

I jump into my car and I throw in my guitar,

Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul,

Well East coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I'm down there

The Mid-West farmer's daughters really make you feel alright
And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night

I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls

The West coast has the sunshine
And the girls all get so tanned
I dig a french bikini on Hawaii island
Dolls by a palm tree in the sand

I been all around this great big world
And I seen all kinds of girls
Yeah, but I couldn't wait to get back in the states
Back to the cutest girls in the world

I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls

I wish they all could be California
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be California
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be California
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be California
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be hell
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

(Refrain)
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year, you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted
She got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
That she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard
Sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember
Some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain
Please bring me my wine
He said: We haven't had that spirit
Here since nineteen sixty nine
And still those voices
Are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said: We are all just prisoners
Here, of our own device
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
The stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,' said the night man
We are programmed to receive
You can checkout any time you like
but you can never leave

House Rent Boogie ----------- john lee hooker

John L's House Rent Boogie
(Spoken:
Hey!
It's the house rent boogie)
I come home last Friday, talk to the woman that I lost my job
She says don't confront me an' so I have my rent next Friday
An' next Friday come, I didn't have the rent an' out the door I went
Yes, yes!
Hmm, hmm
Yes, yes!
Come here now y'all, right 'cross the street here
Help me get this rent together
Some give me a nickel and some give me a dime
I'm tired of keepin' this movin' every night
I can't hold out much longer
Now I got this rent, now let's get together, y'all
Let's have a ball
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!

The Collector Man Blues
(Sonny Boy Williamson)

[spoken:]
Who is that knockin' on that door? I believe that's that collector man.
Man, go tell him I ain't got a dime today. Tell him I ain't made
a penny all this week. Tell him I'm just as broke as I can be, oh
just knock him down... Tell him I'll have the money sometime

Now open the door, here come that collector man
Go open the door, here come that collector man
Why you can tell him I say come back tomorrow, because Sonny Boy ain't got a doggone thing

Tell him that I ain't got no money, now he knows how times is today
Tell him that I ain't got no money, then he know how times is today
Why it's Saturday man ain't got no money, can hardly find a place to stay

Tell him that someday I'll have some money, now I want everybody to watch and see
Tell him someday I'll have some money, I want everybody to watch and see
Why tell him that it's hard to keep down, you know a real good man like me

Tell him I know I'm down now, now but I won't be down always
Tell him that I'm down now, but I won't be down always
Why now you can tell him to watch and see if don't Sonny Boy get some money, oh Lord knows some of these days

Money, Money

My baby gives me the finance blues, tax me to the limit of my revenues.
Here she comes finger-poppin', clickety-click
She says furs or diamonds, you take your pick.

She wants money, what she wants, she wants money, what she wants,
She wants money, what she wants, she wants money, what she wants,
Money money, money money money. money money, money money money.

She say, "money, honey", i'd rob a bank,
I just load my gun and mosey down to the bank.
Knockin' off my neighborhood savings and load,
To keep my sweet chiquita in eau de cologne.

She wants money, what she wants, she wants money, what she wants,
Money money, money money money. money money, money money money.

Mama don't send me down to rob that bank again,
I got a notion that your leadin' me to sin.
Won't you relax, won't you lay way back,
Don't you bug your honey 'bout no cadillac.
It's only bucks, you don't need no jack.
So won't you please relax and lay way back.

My baby's lovin' gives me such a thrill;
It gives me inspiration makin' counterfeit bills.
Now some folks say the best things in life are free,

She wants money, what she wants, she wants money, what she wants,
Money money, money money money. money money, money money money.

Lord made a lady out of adam's rib, next thing you know, you got women's lib.
Lovely to look upon, heaven to touch;
It's a real shame that they got to cost so much.

The French were bred to die for love
They delight in fighting duels
But I prefer a man who lives
And gives expensive jewels
A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand but it won't pay the rental
On your humble flat, or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square cut or pear shaped
These rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend

Tiffany's, Cartier
Talk to me, Harry, Winston, tell me all about it
There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl's best friend

There may come a time when a hard-boiled employer
Thinks you're awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice
He's your guy when stocks are high
But beware when they start to descend
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses
Diamonds are a girl's best friend
I've heard of affairs that are strictly platonic
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
And I think affairs that you must keep liaisonic
Are better bets if little pets get big baggettes
Time rolls on and youth is gone
And you can't straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees
You stand straight at Tiffany's

Diamonds
Diamonds
I don't mean rhinestones
But Diamonds
Are A Girl's Best Friend

Don Juan

The house we moved in
The house we grooved in
The way we waltzed across those marble floors
You used to look deluxe
In your white tie an' tux
Up in that big white house
That is no longer yours

Don Juan, your money's gone
And when your money's gone, Don
Your baby's gone
Don Juan, your baby's gone
Stiff upper lip now, Don
You have to carry on

The yacht we sailed on
The yacht we wailed on
I got to tell you, Don
I loved that yacht
You used to look so cute
In your white sailor suit
Up on that big white yacht
That you no longer got

Don Juan, your money's gone
And when your money's gone, Don
Your baby's gone
Don Juan, your baby's gone
Stiff upper lip now, Don
You have to carry on

Don Juan, when you had money
Don Juan, I was your honey
But Don, it's gone
And so...
Am I!

The jet we cruised on
The jet we boozed on
That was the highest height we've ever flown
Your kisses were so sweet
At thirty thousand feet
Up on that big white jet
That you no longer own

Don Juan, your money's gone
And when your money's gone, Don
Aha, baby's gone
Don Juan, your baby's gone
Stiff upper lip now, Don
You have to carry on

Stiff... lip...
You thought I was saying something else, didn't ya?
Maybe now that I got some money,
I'm gonna get somebody to drag this chair around.

Love, Life and Money Johnny Winter

Life has made me
Pay an awful price
I tried to gamble with ya
But you was using crooked dice

Somebody gotta suffer
Somebody sure gotta feel some pain
If it's gonna rain down misery
How come it always fall on me?

Money, you made me
Some very fast friends
And just like you made them
You're gonna break them in the end

Somebody gotta suffer
Somebody sure gotta feel some pain
If it's gonna rain down misery
How come it all has to fall on me?

I've had my share
Of love, life and money
Lost all three ways
I'm here to tell you that sure ain't funny

Me and my money parted
So did my love and I
Life don't mean a thing
And I wished that I could die

Life did made
A whole lotta fools
Always teaching something
That you never learn in school

Somebody gotta suffer
Somebody sure gotta feel some pain
If it's gonna rain down misery
How come it all has to fall on me?

Money Tree Blues, Willie Dixon

My baby she's got a money tree
My baby she's got a money tree
If she don't shake for you, she'll surely shake for me

A little money tree, it ain't out in the wood
But every time she shake it
Makes me feel so good
My baby she got a money tree
If she don't shake for you, she'll surely shake for me

Well I'm goin' and get my tree
If it don't bear green
I'll be the meanest man
That you have ever seen
I'll cut the money tree down
Dig up the trunk
Cover up the hole
Burn up the stump
My baby she got a money tree
If she don't shake for you, she'll surely shake for you

I love my money tree
I love my money tree
I love my money tree
For my money
I love my money tree
I love my money tree
For my money
I love my money tree

Money Talks
AC/DC

Yeow ! Tailored suits, chaufeured cars,
Fine hotels and big cigars
Up for grabs, all for a price,
Where the red hot girls keep on
Dancin' through the night.
The claim is on you, the sights are on me,
So what do you do, that's guaranteed ?
Hey little girl, you want it all,
The furs, the diamonds, the paintings on the wall.

Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk
Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk

A French maid, foreign chef,
A big house, with kingsize beds.
You had enough, you ship 'em out,
The dollar's up, down, you better buy the pound.
The claim is on you, the sights are on me,
So what do you do ? That's guaranteed
Hey little girl, you break the laws,
You hustle, you deal, you steal from us all

Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk
Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk

Money talks, Yeah !

Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk
Come on, come on, lovin' for the money,
Come on , come on, listen to the money talk

Money talks, talks, talks,
Oh, here it comes, yeah, yeah, yeah !

Money talk !

Hi y'all,

does anyone know from which track comes these lyrics, well, guess, I'm wondering whether anyone knows within this forum (well, I do know it  ):

Brothers, Sisters
One day we will be free
from fighting, violence
people crying in the streets

When the angels from above
fall down and spread their wings like doves
as we walk
hand in hand
sisters, brothers,
we'll make it to.....

Don't wanna give you the rest of the lyrics, as they might make it too easy for you to guess....

Any proposals regarding artist/title?? Embarrassed  Question

I just want to test you...it's an underground Dance song from the beginning of the nineties with some quasi-commercial success in House/Garage clubs, mainly in Europe although it's a US production...

Very nice track!

Best regards,

Hi Lola,

thanks for welcoming me so kindly.

Well, another hint,....

artist's first name: Joe
vocalist's first name: Anthony
Label: DJ International
Genre: Club House
Word contained in the title/chorus: Land

A lot of hints as I find, well, I must confess this may not be really fair from me to confront you with such a song, but next time I will choose something from Pink Floyd, AC/DC  or so....That's PROMISED (The latter word was another hint  )!

I don't want to appear arrogant, but I guess noone here will guess it fast, but you never know...I'm gonna have myself surprised whether someone finds out...
