This is a huge stretch, but it's a wonderful song and I need to share it. I'll highlight that part that I have associated with Seal Poet's last.

Cosmik Debris

From Frank Zappa, Apostrophe

You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 3
The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life

Bolic Sound, Inglewood
May 26, 29 & June 1, 1973

FZ guitar, lead vocals
Jean-Luc Ponty violin
George Duke keyboards
Ruth Underwood percussion
Ian Underwood saxophone
Sal Marquez trumpet
Bruce Fowler trombone
Tom Fowler bass
Ralph Humphrey drums
Tina Turner & The Ikettes back-up vocals

The Mystery Man came over
An' he said: "I'm outa-site!"
He said, for a nominal service charge,
I could reach nervonna t'nite
If I was ready, willing 'n able
To pay him his regular fee
He would drop all the rest of his pressing affairs
And devote His Attention to me
But I said . . .
Look here brother,
Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?
(Now who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?)
Look here brother,
Don't you waste your time on me

The Mystery Man got nervous
An' he fidget around a bit
He reached in the pocket of his Mystery Robe
An' he whipped out a shaving kit
Now, I thought it was a razor
An' a can of foamin' goo
But he told me right then when the top popped open
There was nothin' his box won't do
With the oil of Afro-dytee
An' the dust of the Grand Wazoo
He said:
"You might not believe this, little fella, but it'll cure your Asthma too!"
An' I said . . .
Look here brother,
Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?
(Now what kind of a geroo are you anyway?)
Look here brother,
Don't you waste your time on me
Don't waste yer time . . .

I've got troubles of my own, I said
An' you can't help me out
So take your meditations an' your preparations
An' ram it up yer snout
"BUT I GOT A KRISTL BOL!," he said
An' held it to the light
So I snatched it
All away from him
An' I showed him how to do it right
I wrapped a newspaper 'round my head
So I'd look like I was Deep
I said some Mumbo Jumbos then
An' told him he was goin' to sleep
I robbed his rings
An' pocket watch
An' everything else I found
I had that sucker hypnotized
He couldn't even make a sound
I proceeded to tell him his future then
As long as he was hanging around,
I said
"The price of meat has just gone up
An' yer ol' lady has just gone down . . . "
Look here brother,
Who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris?
(Now is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?)
Don't you know,
You could make more money as a butcher,
So don't you waste your time on me
(Don't waste it, don't waste your time on me . . . )
Ohm shonty, ohm shonty, ohm shonty-ohm

I did say it was a huge stretch, so I didn't really expect anyone to get it. Just take it on faith. Thanks Sorry, lost control of myself...........

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We won't get fooled again

I fought in the old revolution
On the side of the ghost and the king
Of course I was very young
And I thought that we were winning
Now let me say
I didn't feel very much like singing
As they carried the bodies away
Into this furnace
I ask you now to venture
You whom I cannot betray

I can picture ev'ry move that a man could make;
Gettin' lost in her lovin' is your first mistake.
Sundown, you better take care
If I find you bin creepin' round my back stairs.
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winnin' when I'm losin' again.

Take care of my baby
Be just as kind as you can be
And if you should discover
That you don't really love er
Send my baby back home to me

Delta Dawn
What's that flower you've got on?
Could it be a faded rose
From days gone by?
And did i hear you say
He'd be meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky?

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
Beneath the lights we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la lalalalalalalal lal ala la la la la la

Get up and dance to the music!
Get on up and dance to the funky music!
Dance to the Music, Dance to the Music
All we need is a drummer,
for people who only need a beat
I'm gonna add a little guitar
and make it easy to move your feet
I'm gonna add some bottom,
so that the dancers just won't hide
You might like to hear my organ
playing "Ride Sally Ride"
You might like to hear the horns blowin',
Cynthia on the throne, yeah!
Cynthia & Jerry got a message they're sayin':
All the squares, go home!
Dance to the Music, Dance to the Music

Dancing in the dark,
till the tune ends
we`re dancing in the dark
and it soon ends.
We`re waltzing in the wonder of why we`re here
time hurries by, we`re here and gone.

Looking for the light
of a new love to brighten up the night
I have you, love, and we can face the music together,
dancing in the dark.

What though love is old?
what though song is old?
through them we can be young.
Hear this heart fo mine
make yours part of mine
dear one tell me that we`re one

Looking for the light
of a new love to brighten up the night.
I have you, love, and we can face the music together,
dancing in the dark.

(Instrumental Part)

Looking for the light
of a new love to brighten up the night.
I have you, love, and we can face the music together,
dancing in the dark,
dancing in the dark,
dancing in the dark.

MIDNIGHT RADIO

Rain falls hard
Burns dry
A dream
Or a song
That hits you so hard
Filling you up
And suddenly gone

Breath Feel Love
Give Free
Know in you soul
Like your blood knows the way
From you heart to your brain
Know that you're whole

And you're shining
Like the brightest star
A transmission
On the midnight radio
And you're spinning
Like a 45
Ballerina
Dancing to your rock and roll

Here's to Patti
And Tina
And Yoko
Aretha
And Nona
And Nico
And me

And all the strange rock and rollers
You know you're doing all right
So hold on to each other
You gotta hold on tonight

And you're shining
Like the brightest stars
A transmission
On the midnight radio

And you're spinning
Your new 45's
All the misfits and the losers
Yeah, you know you're rock and rollers
Spinning to your rock and roll

Lift up your hands

If you're driving into town
With a dark cloud above you
Dial in the number
Who's bound to love you

Oh honey you turn me on
I'm a radio
I'm a country station
I'm a little bit corny
I'm a wildwood flower
Waving for you
Broadcasting tower
Waving for you

The radio is playing some forgotten song:
Brenda Lee's Coming On Strong
The road has got me hypnotised, and I'm speeding into a new
sunrise
When I get lonely and I'm sure I've had enough
She send her comfort coming in from above -
We don't need no letters at all

We've got a thing that's called Radar Love
We've got a line in the sky

Only the lonely (Dum-dum-dummy doo-wah)
Know the heartaches I've been through (Ooh yay, yay, yay, yeah
Only the lonely (Dum-dum-dummy doo-wah)
Know I cry and cry for you (Dum-dum-dummy doo-wah)

Maybe tomorrow a new romance
No-o-o more sorrow, but that's the chance
You've got to ta-a-a-ake, if your lonely heart breaks
Only the lonely (Dum-dum-dummy doo-wah)
