Circuit boards, FM Transmitter and other things I don't know

So I have a monster iCarPlay Pro:

it lets me charge my ipod while driving and doubles as an FM transmitter so I can play my ipod music over the radio.

It works decently... but could be a lot better. I want to get a stronger signal so I did some searching online and found this: http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=7496

He has a pdf that walks you through a mod to add an antenna and then some other stuff about taking off transister and ohms and other stuff.

Anybody know about circuitry and stuff? Does this sound like it should work?
