Lovatts - Giant cryptic No 47 - December

Hi All

As usual there is always one left. Help appreciated.

67A They're sure to succeed by listening to simple tunes (5) H ? I ? S

Am thinking the only words it could be are HAIRS/HEIRS. My choice would be Hairs (simple tune = air) however the logic escapes me.

Any suggestions, my thanks in advance.

Hello saphi, I too have Hairs but I suggest you await a comment from the experts

Hi saphi,

I'd go with "heirs" (sorry farkha!) as it is pronounced "airs", which ties in better with the clue.
