Help please.
The most famous and popular musical work by a 19-20th Century French composer is based on a ballad published 100 years previsously by an 18-19th century German poet, novelist and playwright, which was itself based on a poem by a 2nd century Greek writer. What was the surnmae of the French composer?
Dukas
as in Paul Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice based on Goethe's ballad based on Philopseudes, a story by Lucian of Samosata.
