Hi Everyone
I am doing the above crossword and am having problems with spelling.
Down the bottom (in the middle) is Scandal, ....celebre, I know that
CAUSE is supposed to fit in as CAUSE CELEBRE is the answer (I think) but then CARIBOU doesn't fit for African carrion bird, that would mean the
spelling would be CARABOU ??? (Can only see the one spelling).
Help if you can so I can get it finished and posted.

I have been able to solve this one, the bird is MARABOU and then
CAUSE is correct.
