I could go on and on there are so many wonderful books out there right now... Good luck, hope these help
Hey, nice ones! I loved the Poisonwood Bible, and have heard of Taslima Nasrin, I think... not sure.
Taslima Nasrin is one of the few women authors from Bangladesh. Am not sure, but currently she is in asylum in India, having escaped from the conservative muslims who had issued some kind of fatwa against her....

Taslima Nasrin is one of my heroes... there are several websites about her, but this interview will give you an understanding of her views.
Interview with Taslima Nasrin
I'm just about to start Chocolat. Johnny Depp is making me do it. After seeing Pirates of the Caribbean, I want to see another Johhhhhhnny movie - Chocolat is my target. Very coinkidentally a co-worker was reading Chocolat, and pressed it upon me to read.
Oh Chocolat is the most beautiful book. You just melt (pardon the pun). Makes you believe in love and magic... anything that allows you to do that must be special!
also, Barbara Kinglsolver has some wonderful books such as
Animal Dreams
and
Bean Trees....
they are woman books for sure
