Who owns history?
History belongs to everyone who lives in it, because it is those people who creat history. It is not owned by any individuals. This is standpoint of Karl Marx, and I totally agree with him.

History can be costly to obtain...
Who own history? SOPA, PIPA, ACTA...?
A new law cannot effect things that have happened in the past. Regulations can but not laws. A person cannot be charged for past indiscretion by a "new" law. I think there is a US law to that effect. Which means that media and programs created before a certain time would not qualify for any "new" law that might be imposed upon them after the fact.
Is an exact copy a counterfeit?
@RexRed,
I think that the public should own most intellectual property but not be allowed to make $ from it.
