How do I import my stills at a higher resolution?

I'm using Premiere Pro 2 to import footage from a Sony mini dv camera. I want to save some stills from the footage for printing so I'd like to save them at 300dpi or so, but they all come out at 96dpi. I don't see any setting to change, does anyone know a way around this? Have I missed something obvious? Is that the maximum res I can get off the mini dv?

Bad news, I'm afraid - without getting all technical on you, trying to capture high-quality stills from non-film video - particularly digital video - pretty much is an excersize in futility; the way non-film video works, print-quality stills just ain't there. The problem you're finding has to do with frame rate and interlacing.

Ah, I was hoping this wasn't the case. Thanks Timber, now I can stop dicking around with it anyway.
