I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the shape on the front of my calculus book is. It's a single surface object, and I thought it was called a torus, but I tried doing a search on it and I can't find it anywhere.

												some sort of torus?
Looks like this: Klein bottle (colored by Gaussian curvature)

A link to adifferent page with concise info (so far as I can tell)

It is probably a Mobius Strip i.e. an object with only one surface.

It's a witty joke. If you don't get it you have a lacuna in your sense of humour.

A torus is simply an object shaped like a doughnut. You can find numerous references by searching for the word on the Web.
