A 20 ft. by 15 ft. swimming pool is surrounded by a 2 ft. wide sidewalk. A fence on the edge of the sidewalk encloses the whole pool area.

a. What is the area in square feet inside the fence?

b. What is the area in square feet of only the sidewalk?

If you draw a picture to scale with measurements etc. you should be able to easily visualize the solution to your problem.

The wink is an attempt at levity
