Hi tigiie

I have the following answers:

43a = mooted (are you sure that is the clue you wanted answered?) Just check it out, I have tamarin for 32d, and cleaved for 13d.

40d = rex

137a = asterism

Hope this helps.

Hi Dutchy

Yes, it is 43a Debated, I have TERAPIN for 32d with 39d as BOULE
(is 52a PILE?).
I had put ASTERISM in at 137a
and is 117d DEPRESS but that makes 142a HEREFORD wrong?

Many thanks
for your help

Oh, so sorry Lezzles,

You are always there to help me when I need help.
And Butterfly too.....and Dutchy....all of you who
just seem to know the answers to all of those
clues that Christine Lovatt throws in.

I have been up and down to the computer so I have
just read the answers quickly, inserted them, I have
been lazy. But I did do the Demon all by myself last
month.

We need to let Christine know that a gremlin took the
whole practice grid out of The September Big.

Many thanks and best wishes to you all

Regards

........Tiggie, I have just finished The Demon myself. Just checked to see if anyone may have needed assistance before I posted my entry away.

I sure wish I could get mine done spending 5 mins per day. I have been on this for hours and hours on end. Crying or Very sad

Just about to hit the Drunk and drink to my success. Smile

Hi Escapepod

Some of the Demons are worse than others.

It took me about 4 years before I ever completed a Demon
in full and it is still my favourite crossword. I would love
to be able to work on them every day but I seem to just
have a little time each night. I do try to do more on the
weekends but that does'nt always happen.

But I still get stuck and Dutchy, Butterfly and Lezzles always
come in and help me, I would be lost without them.

Best Regards

Tigiie

They are so addictive. I always keep coming back for more. :-)

Like you, Dutchy, Butterfly and Lezzles have come to my rescue too.

Before I knew about this Site it was so frustrating not being able to send the entries in, because of one or two missing answers.

I think that's exactly why we keep checking in to see if we can help! There is nothing more frustrating than just not being able to lock in on that one missing word - and nine times out of ten it turns out to be a word you are familiar with.

But we do love doing it, so keep those queries coming!

Good luck with the competitions. Smile

Hi EscapePod

I know how it feels. I just stumbled on this site and it has been wonderful as I also had maybe 2 or 3 words that I could'nt solve and was unable to send my entry in but now I can ask for help.

I just love Lovatt crosswords because they can be so hard. I have done all of the Take 5, etc, even won some wonderful prizes but these crosswords are a challange and I sometimes have 2 to 3 books on the go at one time. Its not the prize that I really want although it is nice to win one but it is a personal goal that I try to reach by sending every one in
(I have won 3 prizes in the last year and nothing for the 5 years before).

Best wishes

I have yet to win a prize, so have not experienced that nice feeling yet. Hopefully, one day.

Like you, I enjoy the Crosswords (just the regular type ones though). I get the Mega, Big & Colossus. Not real keen on those Starhunts, Cryptics. Thankfully the other half enjoys the cryptics and does the Starhunts for me under sufference. Laughing

Like you say, the prizes are secondary but a nice carrot all the same.

Hi Escapepod & Tigiie

Have been doing Lovatts longer then I care to remember, won a few small prizes over the years, but never a major one. Just love the challenge of completing the puzzles and do a bit every day. I find it a wonderful pastime and prefer it to TV. Smile

Best of luck to you both in the competions.

Thanks Dutchy.

And good luck to you too.

Like yourself, I find Crosswords relaxing also. A good way to unwind.

Hi Everyone

Lezzles and I must have been typing our reply at the same time yesterday.

Like all of you, I love the challenge of doing all the crosswords and I get all of Christine's books. I particularly love the Starhunts but can only get
half a crypic done as of yet.

If it was my last dollar, I would have to buy the Lovatt books, its essential to keep me sane as I can spend a lot of time doing them because I enjoy them so much.

Best regards

Tigiie

I have a subscription for the Works but absolutely hate doing the Findawords. I think its because there is no'wrong' answer as such and it is too easy.

I love the Demon and Stinker and Baffler, all the hard ones Very Happy

I have been lucky enough to win a few prizes over the years, including 2 majors--$500 cash and a camera package.

I only do the competition crosswords and take the remainder to the aged care facility where I work Smile

thank you all for your help and support Very Happy
