My son's homework reads as follow:

Questions- How many hundredths are equivalent to each amount?

1. two tenths

2. six tenths

3. eight tenths

4. ten tenths

5. four tenths

I don't understand the question. How can I make an equivalent from a little number to a bigger.

This is a joke right?

two tenths = twenty hundredths. Multiply top and bottom by 10. ie. Add a zero!

1/10 = 10/100
2/10 = 20/100
3/10 = 30/100

etc.

One thing to remember about fractions is the value stays the same if you multiply (or divide) the numerator (top) and the denominator (bottom) by the same amount (except zero).

The same can't be said for addition and subtraction.
