When to replant separated daffodil bulbs?

When my son was visiting for My Surgical Ordeal, I bullied him into turning over a strip of garden where the proliferating daffodils were crowded together.

Can I replant these bulbs immediately? Should I wait until after frost?

Usually one would plant the bulbs in the fall..... I'd wait until cool weather is becoming a little cold at night. You don't want to plant too early or they may rot.

I THINK!!! I am no bulb expert.

Littlek--

In other years, I've always waited until the weather was a little more bracing, but this year I'm thinking that dormant in one piece of ground ( or dormant in a bucket in the garage) isn't all that different from dormant in another piece of ground.

I have a self-indulgent, largish order of bulbs coming in early October and was hoping to get the native-grown bulbs out of the way.

Then, by all means go ahead! You're right, it probably doesn't make much difference.
