Question:
Possible real roots are: 1,1/2,1/4,3,3/2,3/4,9,9/2,and
9/4,-1,-1/2,-1/4,-2,-3/2,-3/4,-9,-9/2,and -9/4.
I am told to divide an equation by all those
numbers listed above and that the number is a root if there is no remainder.
I need help setting up the division.
NOTE: The real roots of 4x^4-13x^2+9 are -1,1,-3/2,3/2.
I don't understand how 3/2 and -3/2 works in this case.

If P is a possible real root, don't divide by P. Divide the polynomial by the monomial x-P.
Based on what you posted, for each possible real root P in your list, you should divide 4x^4-13x^2+9 by x-P and check for a remainder.
