Can you believe, that boomers are expected to live to the ripe old age of 95+.

I'll have to check it out. But I think it was an article in last Sundays paper.

By the way, you can estimate you longevity online at various sites, by taking a little exam. I took one yesterday and one of the questions involved a solution for an algebraic equation.

Why do you suppose?

Good point about Medicare. But what about Social Security?

The hearing aid business suddenly looks like a viable opportunity.

Miller--

Social Security will also suffer, but the cost of living isn't likely to rise quite as dramatically as the cost of medicine.

...as does investment in prosthetics manufacturers. And who makes DependsĀ®? That's a company worth investing in.

I don't worry about reaching any specific age . . . when Nicolo Machiavelli was my age, he'd been dead for twenty years . . . i don't sweat the small stuff . . .

I fully intend to live to at least 100, in reasonably good health, then go downhill so quickly I won't even notice I'm gone.

I'll have to start replacing body parts soon if I'm going to last that long. I'll be the bionic woman by the time I'm 80.

I want to live as long as possible, but only in good condition. To me, a longer life means only that I'll be able to get more things done.
Subjectively, whether I die at the age of 80 or 100 the time will seem to have passed with equal speed. The "death bed" is always NOW.
But at 100 I will have painted far more paintings and read far more books than at 80.

In the USA, "boomer" refers to individuals born just after the 2nd World War.

Also younger than me. You and I are "age-mates", Edgar--although you are a bit younger. But I relate to you as a peer (the same with Frank), a good feeling. I feel younger when I relate to male A2Kers my age who are still vigorous. Of course some of the female A2Kers also make me feel vigorous, but that's just between you and me.
