Good grief, that's a ton of sh*t dropped on you. Did the account theft goof up your birthday present plan for your mom?

shewolf--

You're obviously getting your bad luck out of the way before you move.

The tenacious tenants are bad luck. The mess with the bank account is bad luck. As for the automobile accident, you were frightened but not damaged. That was good luck. Very good luck.

Hold your dominion.

That ain't even fair.

I demand a do-over for your day.

Silver linings, darkness before the dawn, light at the end of the tunnel, blahblahblah.

And I cant handle it.

It started with me metting George, the new landlord , at the apt and him thinking it was empty.

Well , it wasnt.

In fact, they changed the locks . So he cant even get in it anymore.

....

I know you don't want to think about this right now, and I understand. All I'm suggesting is to write this down to possibly do later if necessary -- but what I'm suggesting is to find another place.

But that can wait, of course. And good that today is quiet. Quiet is wonderful.

Oh my, Shewolf. That is heaventearingly awful. Any one of those things would have been reason for a mental breakdown. Gard damn.

Amazingly grateful that the delirium drivers' mayhem missed the two of you at the last second.

Keep us updated about the bank/money - that is just weird. Crossing my fingers for you.

No, I get that. I meant, are you saying she should move into a different place from the one she's already found?

Sorry about the spectacularly sh!tty day yesterday, but I am going to save this quote and play it back to you the next time you are bored. Laughing

It is my philosophy that days like that happen precisely in order to make us appreciate dull days.

Good lord shewolfie! What a horrible chain of events yesterday! I hope the bank mess gets straightened out quickly. Will it make any problems for moving into your new place on Tuesday (or shortly thereafter)?

Man, shewolf! That was one hellacious day! I'm sending out big kitty hugs to you.

As usual, Gus is totally right. You deserved every drop of that beer!

Btw, did anybody manage to get the license plate of that a$$hole drunk driver? Because his a$$ should sooo be thrown in jail.

Take care, shewolfie! Your account will be straightened out soon, and your new apartment is waiting for you.

The main thing is, you and Bean are safe.

The problem with trying to find a new place is that, there are not many in Austin for rent in the ball park of 500 dollars that do not put you in a crack whore neighborhood, or have holes in the roof.

On top of that, we are getting what should be a 560 a mont apt for 510 in exchange for make ready work when people move out of his other 2 buildings.

The location is right where we need it and according to public records, this neighborhood, even though it appears to be really 'slummy' is actually quite low on crime.
There is a lot of graffitti calls, noise disturbance, but no break-ins, assults, car thefts etc.. At least not in the last 1-1/2 years.
So it seems to be really safe.

Where as the other places that are affordable, have long rap sheets of police records.

The account being frozen MIGHT put us behind on getting in. But with George, I am sure all I would have to do is bring him a signed paper ( or what ever I could get from the bank) that specifically says " Account is frozen for investigation" and he would understand.

These people who are in there, are 4 months behind on rent, and he was told thatthey are moving thier stuff in the middle of the night.
He went to court about them on the 3rd, and got a default judgement. They have until this tuesday to move everything out, or he can get a police escort to do so .
Its not his fault that they are being stubborn.. I truly think they just have no where else to go... OR.. they were facing the same type of issue that they are giving ME! ( waiting on a new apt to open)

This tuesday is their last day , so I am crossing my fingers that it will be the day we can either 1) get keys, 2) start cleaning it out and begin getting it READY to move in..

With our credit, there are not many other options either.
Most places want good credit.
We have paid OFF our debts, but our rating is low now.
And being as low as it is, most apts HAVE and will turn us down.

As for the drunken assmunch..

I gave his plate number to the police.
I also told them exactly what car he was driving ( year make and model)
and, because he came out of his car at one point, I was able to give a physical description too.

No dount they caught him..
if they didnt, I would seriously question them.
With a license plate number, even if the car was not HIS, they could find the owner and the owner would KNOW who was driving.. know what i mean?
Unless it was stolen.... but that is a whole 'nother bag of worms right there.

In a few minutes ( 9 am) i am going to log into my bank account and see if things have changed.
If not, I am on my way to the bank to see what I can do to speed it along.
Confused

yes, uneventful days are a nice thing when a crappy day like that one comes before it! Laughing

Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is a train bearing down on you. But then at the last second, you sidestep it and see clear blue sky as the black smoke from the train clears.

Things will get better....lets just hope sooner than later!
