You've struck gold!
Watch the coolest video, right
HERE.
I want to be in a band like that. I'll be the weird hand clapping dude, also known as Lucas Fox, I think, Motorhead's first drummer.
I'm talking to myself again.
they're alright alright, but what happened to the audience? not the happiest crowd ever.
Yes, I noticed that too. They're all sitting around tables, drinking cocktails, while the baddest British early metal supergroup totally shreds. Maybe they were expecting Tom Jones.
Also note the neon flying V on the right hand side. I thought that was a hilarious addition to the set: "Hmm, let's have neon guitars flashing, while the band plays REAL guitars. Yeah!"
Ha! That is funny. It kinda feels like the band was lead to the wrong concert hall. Kinda like when Charlie Chaplin, as a Jewish hairdresser, was lead to the nazi rally to address them as Hitler, for whom he was confused (The Great Dictator, ya know..) Yeah, kinda like that.
Ha! Very cool. Reminds me of high school days watching music shows on the telly. And hey, I mean - they're just cool.
LOL!! This made me laugh so much..

I keep on expecting Mike Smith or Mike Read to appear at the end and say "and that was Motorhead with Girlschool! And now we have some Ultravox coming up!"
I had to watch it twice to get it (it's hot, ok?).
I love motorhead. This video was kind of cool.
Oh, and I thought that was Philthy Animal (Phil Taylor)

Yeah, you're right. Pilthy replaced Fox before the debut, and Motorhead wasn't jamming with Girlschool until later.
Now I want to check out Girlschool. I guess Hit and Run is the album to get. My interest is largely based on the nonchalant gum-snapping drummer.
It's hard for me to believe that I have never checked out girlschool.
Motorhead, in all it's simplistic glory, was the best show I ever saw.
Okay so, jobless at the moment, I've been spending my days watching YouTube (I've only just discovered the magic!) instead of perusing employment listings.
I'd like to add the following to my Raddest Ever list:
"The hottest thing from the north to come out of the south."
and
"But it ends with a swift kick to your ass."
And just for fun, watch Crispen Glover freak out on Late Night With David Letterman. It's an uncomfortable experience.
Total Freakout
So...I should make better use of my time no?
Feel free to add your favorites, my friends. It's all on
www.youtube.com, owner of my precious time.
Like, uh, WOW! Was that Crispin thing for real?

The Cramps! I saw them, the free shwag was a two-sided shoe horn labelled HISS and HEARSE. Heehee...
Dear littleK,
Yeah, for real. I only knew to search for it because of an older buddy from grad school who saw it on TV in '85 or '86. Honestly, I find it excruciating. Like, I've only gotten as far as him flexing his arm. I don't even care about Crispen Glover, but he's so fukked up and paranoid and DYING out there, that he exposes the flimsy waters of media, and I cringe and close the video.

Okay, so you've seen Motorhead AND the Cramps. Now I'm insanely jealous.
So many classic punk bands are reforming in disappointing pieces these days, that I long for a time machine. The Germs are touring without Darby Crash. The Dead Kennedys are touring without Jello. Etc. Etc.
But I heard the Cramps are still rad! Lux can still fit that mic into his mouth!
They were very cool. I liked the show. I haven't seen any other punk rock bands unless you consider Jane's Addiction, Niel Young or Dinosaur Jr. to be punk rock. I think they all have a little punk-ass in them.
Wait, I have seen some small-name punk rock besides - and few from other countries.

The Exploited are playing the Sziget Festival here next week. Seriously. I had to look twice - The Exploited? Still exist?
Cant say I'm not curious... definitely gonna take a look.
I guess I'm too late for the greats. By about a decade and a half.
However I have seen kickass local punk. Here, I'll plug Tuscaloosa, Alabama's very own The Hell. Check 'em out right
HERE.
Me and my own humble musical ventures have opened for them a few times.
I think I'm a little too old for 'kill punk' now - so sad....... Have you ever heard of The Wives? They were (or are) an all-female punk rock band I saw in GA in the late 90s.
I'm totally afraid I'll find a good %40 of my music collection unlistenable in five years.
