KAREL GOTT - That's the one!

Thanks for the replies, people. Couldn't sleep, as my mind is all over the place.

I've got so many things to do today (Monday) followed by an overnight drive down through France, to Geneva....then onto Macon the following day.
Ain't it always the way when you REALLY want to sleep, that one thing keeps nagging away in the brain, and you end up staring at the ceiling for hours!

Anyway, I'll see all you lovely people in about four to six weeks... depending on how things turn out.
(putting new floor in the farmhouse).

I will now instruct my lad to have the iPod full for my return......

<sleep....must sleep>

OK, then, Nimh, go for Buffalo Springfield (I have that one).

David Crosby was the friend of a roommate of a boyfriend of mine, and so the f/k what. It was long ago and my connection is slight - one of those six degree things. In the meantime I see him chatting happily with folks at some kind of festival. Glad he's alive and happy.

I've had a lot of fun but never been a groupie.

I liked those guys in all their guises, still have the albums - but, hey, not much of my day's interest, even then.

Could be longer, Dag...but I think I may have had enough by then (or my body will have given up).

I'll find the link to a vid of the interior (if I can) and show you what we're (bruv and I) are up against.

Back in a mo .........

Good lord, lord, find an internet cafe somewhere in between, eh? We need you, y'know, and we can help you for putting marshmallows underneath to level the flooring....

Here.....

'Scuse the quality of the film...it was taken on my little camera, which only does 15 second vids, then all spliced together.

The final ten seconds or so is the part that we want to convert. That's the 50% part of the building that is still "barn".

'Twas a very windy day when this was filmed....early April (2004?)

The little house over the other side of our car park is ours as well, and needs totally doing....new windows, floors, everything.
Both the farmhouse(parts of) and small house (most of) date from about 1450, and the small house even has the original bread oven.

Thanks Osso, re. thr internet cafe, I'll try.....as long as they have electricity in them thar parts.
We have no phone, no TV (we're taking my mum's old one...hope it works) and no internet.

Just cows, and little known vineyards not very far away, such as Chateauneuf, Gevrez Chambertain, Nuits St George etc.

I hope I'm sober enough to go up a ladder.
