I loved Pentangle and had their recordings but they tended to be overshadowed by Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention.
Bert Jansch's recent death brought Pentangle to mind but not strongly enough. I saw Pentangle in Cambridge after they had (nominally) broken up . . . perhaps, at the time, they were called The John Renbourne Group. It was pretty obvious that they weren't getting along. Then Jacqui and John toured together several years later. John, who was the biggest crab during the earlier show, was jovial. Jacqui, who had seemed so small and delicate in her 20s, is much sturdier looking in person.
Enormous talent in those groups.
